Cumberland County Cooperative Extension will host a NC Bradford Pear Bounty event on October 11, 2025 from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the Cumberland County Cooperative Extension office, located at 301 East Mountain Drive, Fayetteville, NC.

Why should you replace your Bradford pear trees?

They are invasive! They are stinky! They are structurally weak (any annoying).

You may not want to replace your Bradford pear tree because of its beauty, but don’t worry – there are plenty of native trees that very similar blossoms.

Pre-registration is required.
Tree removal is the homeowners responsibility.
This is an event-based program. Participants must attend at the location and time of the event to pick up their trees.
Only the homeowner can register and receive replacement trees.
Any North Carolina resident is eligible.
A before and after photo must be brought to the event
Replacement trees are free, native, and offered on a first-come, first served basis.
One native tree is exchanged for each Bradford/Callery pear tree removal. Up to five trees can be exchanged.
