Soil Sample Fee Returns

Peak season soil testing fees are set to take effect November 27, 2024, through March 31, 2025.  Submitting soil samples to the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Agronomic Services lab before that date will mean growers and homeowners can avoid the $4 per sample fee.

Soil sample boxes, instructions, and informational forms may be picked up at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Cumberland County Center, located at 301 East Mountain Drive, Fayetteville, NC from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

Soil samples delivered to the Cooperative Extension office by 5:00 pm on November 18, 2024, will be delivered to Raleigh and will avoid the peak season fee. Samples delivered after November 18, 2024, are not guaranteed delivery to the Soil Lab before November 27, 2024, and the onset of the peak season fee.

Growers are highly encouraged to submit soil sample information forms online for faster and more accurate uploading of their information. A copy of the soil sample information sheet is required for soil samples delivered to the NCDA Soil Lab.
