This summer our extension agents in Bladen County are offering a summer of EXCITING ENRICHMENT for Bladen County youth ages 5 to 18.

All programs will have limited spaces for youth and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for the event sessions opens at 10 a.m. on June 3, 2021, and we have more information below to help you get your child/children registered.

NEW ENVIRONMENTAL EXPLORATION WORKSHOP NOW OFFERED!!!! See details below and be sure to follow the registration information below. Youth must be a member of 4-H and enrolled in the online system to register for this event.

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPLORATION is a FREE workshop series for ages 9 to 18 to be held on August 4 & 5, 2021 from 9 a.m. to noon at the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Bladen County office. Join your 4-H friends as we get hands-on with the environment. Youth will develop scientific thinking skills around water and air pollution, explore environmental engineering, and environmental health. They will have a unique opportunity to participate in a live Q&A event with three environmental scientists – so prepare some questions about career and college opportunities in the field of Environmental Science and Health. THIS WORKSHOP IS FREE!!! It is sponsored in part by United Way of Bladen County. Space is limited so register soon! See details for event registration using 4-H online below!

How to Register?

Registration this year is different than in the past and will require two steps. The first step to participating in our Exciting Enrichment with Extension summer program or our NEW Environmental Exploration workshop is to create a 4-H Online profile. You will need to create a new or update your existing 4-H Online Family Profile at 4-H Online. Then you will need to add each of your children as a youth 4-H member completing all of the enrollment information for each child. Youth must be aged 5 to 18 as of January 1, 2021, to enroll as a member of 4-H.

TIPS FOR ENROLLING IN 4-H ONLINE

  • Check out this Google Site for helpful information about how to enroll as a member in 4-H Online
  • Here is also a helpful resource guide for enrolling in 4-H Online
  • If your child is not an existing member of one of our community clubs listed, please select MEMBER AT LARGE
  • When the form asks for you to select a project for your child, you can select anything that they may be interested in – this does not commit them to complete any particular 4-H project
  • Complete ALL sections of the enrollment including health form, liability waivers, and photo release

You must be registered and approved in 4-H Online in order to register for any of these summer enrichment programs.

Step two, you will need to login to your 4-H Online Family profile associated with your account for your child/children and click ‘Events’ on the left-hand side of your screen. You will see our Exciting Enrichment with Extension and our Environmental Exploration programs listed under events that your child can participate in based on their age and deadline to register. If you have different aged children, then the sessions they can participate in will be different. For a quick tutorial on how to register your child/children for this event, click our link to see a video.
