2019 Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association Spring Symposium

— Written By

The Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteer Association of Cumberland County proudly presents their annual Spring Symposium at the Ramada Inn on Saturday, March 23, 2019. The symposium will be held in the Bordeaux Center located within the Ramada Inn. For GPS purposes, the address is 1707 Owen Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28304.

Our main speakers this year will be Tony Avent: the Indiana Jones of horticulture, curator, breeder, columnist, and creator of Plant Delights Nursery and Juniper Level Botanic Gardens located in Raleigh. Joining Tony will be Carol Reese, a nationally known speaker, columnist, and an Extension Horticulture specialist housed at the University of Tennessee who blends gardening with her own quirky humor. A three-course lunch is included in the price of your ticket.

A Live Plant Auction will conclude the Symposium with Tony Avent as our Auctioneer! Garden-related vendors and special garden interest groups will be available for participants to browse, gather information and make purchases between sessions and at lunch.

The purpose of the symposium is to carry out the Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association of Cumberland County’s mission: to educate the residents of Cumberland County in NC State University-approved horticulture practices based on unbiased, research-based information for their own gardens, lawns, and landscapes.
